We produce clothes and accessories that are based on prints of designs initially inspired by the street art of Akumal in Mexico but also from collaborations with brilliant artists. Our products are beautifully made from high-quality materials with carefully curated elegant designs that can be worn anywhere but celebrate beach living.
Meet our Team
Founder and CEO : Andrew Nicolls
Andrew has lived in London, Hong Kong, Paris and New York before arriving in Tulum, Mexico in 2017. He has always been passionate about art and has collected for many years. After a career in finance he decided to follow his love of the arts and opened a gallery, Tulum Inside Out in 2020 with his partner Carlos. Andrew also became involved in the Akumal Arts Festival, the home of the largest fixed structure street art collection in the World. It was these two initiatives that made him think that there was an opportunity to start a brand that was based on the arts of Tulum and celebrated artists. Together he and Carlos founded Tulumio to offer something different and unique to beach lovers and everyone who enjoys colours, patterns and art.
He is now resident in Tulum with his husband Carlos and their three Xoloitzcuintle dogs.
Founder and Creative Director: Carlos Falcón
Carlos was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and moved to Tulum in 2010 when it was still a quiet beach town. He was studying philosophy before he decided to persue a different life. Carlos trained as a masseuse and made jewellry and shares Andrew´s passion for art but being Mexican has a true understanding of local culture and history. He has always been interested in fashion and beautifully made products and likes everything to be perfect. He is an avid reader and reseacher and sources and designs all of the Tulumio products. His dogs, Xola, Xile and Darsetta are the most important things in his life.
